Log in to My Wiltshire Pension (opens new window)

Remember: My Wiltshire Pension (opens new window) can run your calculation instantly.

Alternatively, if you are planning on taking your pension soon and you want to check your pension figures before you hand in your notice, you should complete the Pension estimate online form.

If you complete a form, it can take up to 15 working days to send the estimate, after receiving the completed form by your employer (if needed).

I would like a tax free lump sum

When you take payment of your pension benefits you will have the option to exchange some of your pension for a tax free lump sum, depending on not exceeding your tax allowance.

The maximum lump sum you can take is set by HM Revenue and Customs and is the lower of:

  • 25% of the capital value of your pension benefits
  • 25% of your remaining

For every £1 of annual pension you exchange you will receive £12 of tax free lump sum.

Converting annual pension to a tax-free lump sum

There is a lump sum conversion slider in the Your Retirement Projection section in My Wiltshire Pension (opens new window). This shows you how much annual pension you could give up for a tax free lump sum and will automatically re-calculate the remaining annual pension.

You can also view your automatic tax free lump sum benefits (for any members with pre-2008 benefits) in My Wiltshire Pension (opens new window).

What if I have an AVC?

You can download your latest AVC statement by logging in to your Prudential account (opens new window) .

Alternatively, contact us if your AVC is with one of the historical providers - Utmost Pensions, Clerical Medical or Phoenix Life.

Most members will have the option to buy annual pension using their AVC lump sum, we do not normally include this in an estimate request. If you require the amount of pension the AVC would provide then please notify us when requesting your pension.

I want to pay in extra

As a member of the Wiltshire Pension Fund you have access to two tax efficient ways of increasing your pension benefits in addition to the benefits you are already building up.

Invest into a pension pot of money

Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs)

Buy additional LGPS pension

Additional Pension Contributions (APCs)

If you are unable to decide which is best for you, contact a financial advisor (opens new window) who will be able to discuss your options and personal circumstances in more detail.
